I am a Computational Biology PhD student at Cornell University and a Fulbright Scholar. I deeply appreciate evolutionary theory, focusing on the genomic mechanisms driving speciation and adaptation. For me, bioinformatics isn't just a toolkit; it is an elegant, high-leverage approach to parsing complex data and answering profound biological questions.
As an advocate for open-source software and reproducible science, I treat my computational environment as an extensible extension of my research. I architect my entire academic workflow directly within a unified Emacs & Org-mode ecosystem.
Current Research
My doctoral research centers on exploring complex evolutionary patterns within the Galápagos archipelago. Specifically, I am investigating hybridization dynamics among populations of Darwin's finches.
A key focus of my current work targets the Large Cactus Finch (Geospiza conirostris) on Española Island. By inferring Ancestral Recombination Graphs (ARGs) and phylogenetic networks, I aim to clarify the evolutionary dynamics, historical demography and adaptive introgression events shaping these distinct island populations.
